There’s beauty in brevity, sometimes.
Back in 2019, I recreated the Vogue 73 Questions series, which invites celebrities to answer rapid-fire questions in a 10-ish minute video. I answered a series of written questions, quickly, that spanned many topics of my life.
A lot has changed. I noticed this the other day, when I happened to click on the old post, give it a read, and realized how different life looks these days.
So, here we are.
This is 73 Questions: 2022 style. And, for my sake, a little less brief.
Updated 73 Questions
1. What’s your usual Starbucks order?
Soy vanilla latte or a sweet cream cold brew.
2. What does your workstation look like?
Gone are the days of writing at a desk: I usually work from the comfort of my bed. The covers are strewn, there are dog nose marks on the window, my nightstand table is cluttered with to-do lists, books, jewelry, and a coffee mug.
3. Favorite food?
Probably still Mexican food! But also likely: the category “brunch.”
My favorite restaurants (from now until ever) are Tomasita’s in Santa Fe, Tacoparty in Grand Junction, and Anejo’s in Gunnison.

4. Favorite author?
Right now, it’s probably Liane Moriarty.
5. What do you think of open relationships?
My old answer remains: It’s not for me, and never could be. However, I try to be as open minded as possible for people who enter these relationships with consent, boundaries, and respect.
Plus: I admire anyone who can coordinate schedules that efficiently. The energy that would take!
6. What is your favorite video game?
NBA Street (“in and out like a fast food restaurant”). Otherwise, I really really don’t care for video games. (Don’t tell that to my Xbox, lol. I’ve tried, just can’t get into them.)
7. Guilty pleasure treat?
Anything with dairy – especially cheese curds.
8. Favorite movie?
UM. *panics.* Rudy.
9. Favorite book?
“Idaho” by Emily Ruskovich.

10. Twitter or Instagram?
I like things about both, if I’m being honest.
For Twitter, I like the obscurity, news updates, and memes, but it’s also the worst news you’ve ever seen in your life and quickly translates into a death scroll.
Likewise, I like Instagram for its creativity and that stories allow me to connect with people in an easy and genuine way (since moving to MKE, I’ve made most of my new friends this way). But it’s also heavily curated, I dislike reels, and the focus on consumerism is too much.
11. Desktop or laptop?
I’m exclusively on a laptop these days.
12. Best advice you’ve ever received?
Some is better than none.
I think of it like this: 50% is better than 0. If you do something light, or small, at least you’re doing something, period. Some effort is better than none, and is still progress.
13. What project are you working on right now?
Two blog posts, a lengthy (never-ending) to-do list, responding to DMs, planning tonight’s workout, inviting friends to share Apple Watch data, messaging the Fam group chat, making plans with new friends, and preparing a list of work stuff (responding to emails, scheduling a call, drafting interview questions).
14. Favorite color?
Neutral tones.
15. Did you get good grades in school?
Obsessively.
16. Dream job?
Successful novelist.
17. Play any sports?
Baseball, softball, basketball, and dance—ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, even a clogging stint, dance team.

18. Do you have a degree?
I have a bachelor’s degree in English Writing and a minor in Communications, both from University of Colorado Denver.
19. Nationality?
United States with European lineage.
20. What is your favorite kind of blog post?
Honestly, to read, I like anything that’s helpful. (Whether it’s helpful to explore a travel destination, get to know someone better, or help me find out how to replicate your wardrobe.)
To write, I like anything that feels good to hit publish. Sometimes that’s a well-written fiction piece, a romantic ode, a happy hour catch-up, or the details of a new adventure.
21. What do you like to collect?
These days, tattoos. Also, comfy, neutral-colored clothing.
I’d like to think photographs, too, of all the incredible places I’ve been.
22. Describe yourself in three words?
Creative, compassionate, determined. (In that post I linked, I realized that it’s less of a personality trait and more of a symptom of ADHD. Lol.)
23. If you were a rapper what would your stage name be?
@ SavvyNelson
24. Who was the last person you DMed?
New Wisconsin friends! I have a catalogue of budding relationships happening via DM. It’s a little overwhelming but I appreciate the opportunities to make friends in real life, even if they start on a screen.
25. What’s on top of your wish list right now?
I think a tropical vacation! I’m not sure how feasible it is for a while after traveling so much lately. I would honestly like another lip injection as well, but those are pricey.

Ravenclaw or Slytherin.
27. How many tattoos do you have?
I think we’re up to eight now!

28. What are you most grateful for this year?
The crazy urge to change and an even crazier action to follow through (aka Chad and I spontaneously deciding to move to Milwaukee), a beautiful new city to explore, a fantastic house to live in, family and friends, cheese curds, remote work clients, financial stability, Wally cuddles, new friendships, Lake Michigan, Wisconsin’s Hardest Trivia at Company Brewing, and my health.
29. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this month?
Too much to mention! Our final trip back to Colorado was filled with everything wonderful: quality time with my parents, seeing Alexis and Jessica and finally meeting their baby, getting a new tattoo, going to Winefest, dancing at our buddies’ Nick and Taylor’s wedding, and time in the pool.
Then, we just hosted my parents in Milwaukee for a week. We did alllllll the things and it was so much fun. I miss them already!
30. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you today?
I went to my first Barre class at The Barre Code in Milwaukee. It was fun and challenging and I felt very accomplished. Afterwards, I treated myself to an acai bowl. 🙂

Finding your person. Figuring out what you’re good at. Cuddles with a puppy that loves you. Margaritas with chips and salsa. Seeing results after working hard.

37. Which surprise made you cry?
On my 25th birthday back in March 2020, my mom gifted me with a wonderful tribute video made from my family and friends. Since that was the time that the world was shutting down and I was feeling incredibly isolated/alone, it was one of the best surprises to date. It was very special and I definitely cried.
38. What’s the best surprise you’ve given someone else?
One time I helped throw a surprise birthday party for my bestie Alexis. It was her wife Jessica’s idea, so I can only take credit for physically showing up and being quiet about it, lol.
I think I give great surprise gifts to Chad, like our trips to San Diego, Arizona, and Lake Geneva.

If they have fruit baked inside, I can’t hang.

Probably The Hangover.
66. Movie that made you cry?

As a fellow redhead, you could probably appreciate this pick up line…
I was walking around a neighborhood just to get some fresh air during work and a lady pulled up beside me in her car (there was a stop sign, so I wasn’t completely freaked). She had her window down and said, “Your hair is absolutely stunning… and you can either take that as a complement or a pick up line; your choice.” I told I appreciated the complement and we both went on our ways. Best pick up line I’ve heard by far; not creepy and flattering–perfect.
Okay, yeah. This is the best one I’ve heard. Lol. It sounds like it was very sincere, which I appreciate. Thanks for sharing!
