Hey everybody!
In my last post, I mentioned that I was excited about my latest business collaboration—I’ve been working with Dancing Lotus Artistry, a Colorado-based fine art shop that is owned and operated by my mom, Michelle.
I wanted to do a deeper dive into Dancing Lotus Artistry as a business and introduce the products that are available. They’re beautiful and worth learning more about. 🙂
About the artist
First thing’s first: my mom, Michelle, while new on the Etsy scene, is no stranger to the artistic world. I’ve known her as an artist of many forms for my entire life across many, many mediums. From abstract painting to gift giving, she’s been a master of many art forms, some more traditionally recognized than others.
In a more formal introduction, here’s the more traditional story:
Michelle Nelson is the owner and creator behind Dancing Lotus Artistry. She has a background in numerous creative pursuits, starting with a bachelor’s degree in fine art, a master’s degree in art therapy, and over thirty years of painting experience. Michelle lives in Grand Junction, Colorado with her husband and two pups, where she continues to be inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings.
Additionally, Michelle is a mother of three and “Gigi” to three grandchildren, a world traveler, a self-taught gourmet vegan cook, an avid reader and life student, and a wonderfully thoughtful human being. Plus, she’s very, very fun.
About Dancing Lotus Artistry
Created in 2021, Dancing Lotus Artistry specializes in nature-inspired fine art, notecards, and other original creations. Each item is hand-painted by artist Michelle Nelson and born in the spirit of creativity, light, and mystique.
The products
Right now, Dancing Lotus Artistry has released four different handmade card series. These are giftable versions of fine art, which act as a thoughtful and one-of-a-kind gift. Please be on the lookout for future products, which might include prints, expanded series, and more original art.
Note: I have a tendency to frame these cards. Not only do I preserve the extremely thoughtful gift, but I also have a high-quality piece of art for my wall. I recommend this route.
Sky Dancer Series

Inspired by the enticing qualities of the sky, this series represents the lyrical movements of birds as dancers in flight. Each card represents the beauty and grace of soaring, swooping, and natural captivation.

Sol Dance Series

Using abstract impressionist techniques—such as light, textured brush strokes, and vivacity—to bring nature alive, this series evokes the experience of water and sun at dusk for their final dance before nightfall.

Beach Idyll Series

Toes in the sand, salty wind in the air. This series is a light and breezy representation of the relaxing, tranquil, and fun moments found (and memories made) at the beach.

Tropical Infusion Series

Celebrating the natural elements of the tropics, this series evokes the lush aesthetics of water, land, sky, sun, and fresh air in a deconstructed style.
