After all the moving, adventuring, and home improvement, I need—maybe we need—a little bit of a palate cleanser.
Back in high school, I started a tradition with one of my friends, Josie. At some point during every day, I would post on her Facebook wall—I called it “fun fact of the day,” or F.F.D. for short. For probably a year or two we went back and forth with them, and I thought it was a little silly goofy fun that we could all benefit from.
Enjoy these random fun facts, mostly about me, just for the heck of it.
Fun Facts of the Day (F.F.D.)
I used to hate drinking water. (Except for during basketball practice and games, I think I was dehydrated for most of my life until I started living with Chad. He pretty much forced me into a healthy consumption. Oops.)
Chad and I have been sleeping on an air mattress since March 1, 2022. (Spared for one night, when we crashed a wedding and stayed in a hotel. We did not want to leave that bed the next morning. Oof.)
I’m very good at naming animals (I take credit for Wally and Olive).
Going out to eat is one of my very favorite things to do, always.
I’ve never dyed my hair.
I’ve always wanted to dye my hair. (Blonde.)
My top three fears: mountain lions, mice, and failure.
One of my most memorable interviews was for a man who watched the weather and recorded his findings and predictions in the local paper for years. I went to his house, met him and his wife, and noticed that their cat was tied up outside on a leash. It was great, and not a bad article.
My first “adult” job was working for a public relations firm that represented tourism organizations and hot springs.
Back in college, I saw a deer get struck by lightning.
Seeing a deer get struck by lightning was one of the most traumatic things to happen to me. I puked on myself immediately after. Then drove a few more hours home.
I can barely swim, but pools, lakes, and oceans are my happiest places.
Pigs are my favorite animal.
My only motivation for buying a house was because Chad said we could finally get a dog if we did. (And then I named him beautifully.)
I did freelance writing for a cannabis conglomerate for nearly four years.
Taylor Swift is my favorite artist. #sorrynotsorry #swifty4lyfe
Because my two brothers are seven and nine years older than me, I feel as though I got both the sibling and only-child experience in many ways.
I have a few goals I’m workshopping for the future: write a book, try out modeling, travel, and experience luxury.
One time I won a nature-themed haiku contest in a fiction writing class. The prize was tickets to the Denver Botanic Gardens.
My high school graduating class had 69 people.
I was co-class president. I planned our graduation ceremony and read off the names – I rounded up to 70.

Thanks for tuning in! 🙂
