The last time I gave an official life update, a lot had gone down in my life. This time is no different…except that it’s somehow even more extreme.
Big stuff is happening in my corner of the world.

We’re moving
The big, huge news, of course, is that we are moving to Milwaukee! (In case you missed the announcement, I wrote about it here.)
BRB, busy selling our house, selling a lot of stuff, bucket-listing around Colorado, looking for homes to buy in Milwaukee, and panic-buying heavy duty winter gear.
We are officially listing our house tomorrow. Eeek!! Wish us luck!!!
Bingo big winner
This now feels like pretty small potatoes compared to everything else that has been going on, but the New Castle Community Center held bingo in December and I won a game, lol.
Felt really nice to win $30. 🙂

Officially boosted!!
In December Chad and I were finally able to get our booster shot. It was quick and easy and we’re thankful!
Book club
I went to a single book club before finding out about our move, and we read Peaces by Helen Oyeyemi. It was a weird read! But it also was fun to get out and about and meet some cool local ladies.
I’ve been dancing!!
Another thing that’s been huge for me personally has been two different dance classes offered by the Town of New Castle Recreation department. Hip-hop and tap, taught by the fabulous Christine Fierce, has been really amazing for me. Fun, excellent exercise, and full of nostalgia.

Christmas in Gunnison
We spent a few days in Gunnison celebrating Christmas with Chad’s family; it included the traditional soup dinner on Christmas Eve at Chad’s Grandma’s house, followed by a spaghetti meal on Christmas day at my in-laws’ house.
We also got to spend a few days in Grand Junction afterward with my parents. We had a blast!
NYE fun
To ring in the new year, Chad and I actually got to spend our Friday at Sunlight, making use of our ski passes for the first time of the season. We had a blast!
The snow was crazy insane (the drive to and from the resort was extremely sketchy) and was falling intensely the whole time. A major powder day! We only wiped out a few times each, lol.
Because it was a holiday, Sunlight seemed a little busier than usual, but the lines dwindled in the afternoon. It gave us plenty of time to chat about our year in review, and come up with a few visions for 2022.
After skiing, Chad and I went out to eat at New Castle’s nicest restaurant Eat Bistro, where we enjoyed a very fancy meal and drinks. Afterward, we stayed up until midnight watching movies and cheering to a new year.

Wally class
Wally has been taking twice-weekly training classes and daycare at High Tails in Glenwood Springs. He absolutely loves being dropped off to spend time with his trainer Tracey! She also taught our puppy socialization class. I think it has been so great for him.
Features in ShoutOut Colorado
I was featured in a piece by ShoutOut Colorado! You can learn more here.
They also wrote an excellent article on my mom, which can be read here.
Favorite thing
I think it’s worth noting that I am currently obsessed with the Elmo and Rocco feud that has come to light. The videos of Elmo reacting to Rocco are simply hilarious in all the right ways.
(Here’s some context if you’re confused.)

Pantry organization
I reorganized our kitchen pantry, lol. I’m really honestly proud of this! It was a lot of work but well worth it, and I’m so happy to have a clean and more accessible space.
I’ve been published!
I have several articles in the latest edition of Glenwood Springs Magazine. 🙂
Grand Junction visit
Over MLK Day weekend, Chad and I spent some time in Grand Junction with my parents and my brother’s family. We had a ton of fun (as usual), eating great food, spending time together, and creating a fairy tea party for my niece Nora.
Axe throwing
In late November, we discovered how fun axe throwing is. I highly recommend an hour at Kodiaxe in Grand Junction!
