This is my first spring in Milwaukee, and I’ll be honest: it’s feeling a little bleak. Skies are grey and there’s been more rainy and cold days than sunshine…by far.
However, I’m holding out hope—which, by the way, isn’t always easy when everyone always says “you moved from Colorado? Why??”—for sunnier days ahead. Blue skies, feel free to make your appearance any time now.
In the meantime, I’m making the most of the season through what I can control. Here are some of my current spring goals, to aid in that mission.

Go to HOTOWORX 3 times a week
Right now, working out at HOTWORX is a saving grace. It gets me out of the apartment, gives me the chance to go for a small walk, and I get to enjoy the river views. And, that’s not even inside the gym.
So far I’m loving the workouts and eating up the endorphins that comes with a little bit of exercise. Cycling has been my favorite, and I’m working towards trying out every workout class available. There’s something incredibly rewarding about sweating so much and feeling like a badass in 15-minutes, and I’m leaning into all those sauna benefits as well. My spring goal is three visits to HOTWORX a week.
Paint our house
We bought a house! Thanks to our apartment lease, we have several weeks before we have to officially move in. We’d love to use that time, while its empty, to make a few upgrades.
First on the list is getting the inside painted. We’re getting a quote from a professional company, though we’ll likely do a few areas ourselves (it’s a pricey project!). I can’t wait to see how a fresh coat of white paint transforms our beautiful Victorian home.
Plan weekend trips away
Now that we’re getting settled in Milwaukee, I’m hoping to plan a few trips away. Lol. One of the perks of living here is easy access to all different kinds of places and opportunities to explore nearby gems.
Make a new friend
New city, new me. I typically have a really hard time making new friends (I even wrote about it a while ago), but I’m determined to turn a new leaf here in Milwaukee.
My goal is to put myself out there and to make at least one new friend. I can do this!!
Get a new client
Sunshine Creatives is officially looking for a new client! Please feel free to refer anyone who’s looking to add a blog to their business website, start a newsletter, or take a different direction with their social media. 🙂
Go through ‘must not miss’
Our fabulous realtor Ginger gave us a book at our house closing: “111 Places in Milwaukee That You Must Not Miss” by Michelle Madden. It’s an incredibly well-done book and is our latest guide to figuring out the city—where to go and what to do.
This spring, a driving goal of ours is to continue making our way through the book and making incredible sunshine-filled memories (physical sun or not) as we go.
True …nice post😊👍
Thank you!
