As temperatures drop and fall sets in beautifully around me, I’ve been gathering different pieces to make trendy outfits.
After extensive COVID bed-rest sweatpants and three months straight of wearing strictly athleisure (softball coach chic), I’m ready to bust out a few cute looks that require some level of effort.
While participating in a little online shopping retail therapy, I realized what I was looking for m ost:
- Items that are comfortable, fit me as I am now, and will be worn regularly. Otherwise, I just won’t wear it (my toxic trait).
- Styles that are more classic than trendy. They can be on-trend now, but I’m looking for items that can be re-worn for years to come as a closet staple.
- Affordability, as always.
- Practicality. It’s cold here in Colorado, the ground gets gunky, and the overall tone of this state is massively casual. Chad should not have to roast me for wearing something inappropriate.
Let’s see what I picked out.
Fall outfit pieces

Black knee-high boots, Lulu’s
This is my first pair of knee-high boots that aren’t riding boots or cowboy boots and I’m so stinking exited to have that classic, classy, sultry vibe. They’re square-toed and flawless.

Black cardigan, Lulu’s
My sweater game is atrociously lacking. I’m kicking off a robust collection with this classic black piece that impresses with comfort and a chic shape. Taylor Swift called, and I enthusiastically answered.

White sweater, Lulu’s
This soft, white sweater is a perfect number for apple picking, pumpkin patching, cider sipping, by-the-fire cuddling, and anything to do with a venti-sized latte. It’s reversible and versatile, and I feel like a fall princes with it on.

Black lace top, Lulu’s
I tend to struggle with tops in the colder months. I opted for a silky black lace long-sleeve item that can be a statement top or a great layer underneath a shacket or jacket. I plan on wearing it with the Tayshia skirt listed down below.

Black heeled booties, Lulu’s
I’ll be the first to admit that I have several pairs of booties, but this is my first black, pointed toe, classic leather set. I’m smitten.

Black floral dress, VICI
I’m obsesssssed with this gorgeous black midi dress from Vici. I intend to wear this for holiday parties, weddings, date nights, events, and business meetings. Honestly, whenever appropriate.

Brick satin dress, VICI
Okay, same sentiment goes for this satin number. It’s really, really nice and expensive looking and extremely classy. Invite me to your wedding, so I can wear this now.

Sneakers, VICI
I love these sneakers! I don’t have any fashion sneaks, and I’m not ready to pull the trigger on Nike Air Force Ones, so these beautiful and sleek faux suede babies hit the spot. They’re super playful and fun and I will live in these.
My favorite part is that I can wear them with literally every pair of jeans I own.

Tayshia x Amaryllis
Okay, I’ll admit it: I’ve been *influenced.* Tayshia, former star of the 2020 series of the Bachelorette, is one of my many favorites. When she announced her collaboration with Amaryllis, I was in.
Out of the collection, I ordered a matching set: a gorgeous white ivory shacket and a tailored tweed skirt to match, both impressing in a sleek and perfect-for-fall pattern. They’re an investment for sure, and the quality reflects the price. They are just so good!!! I hope to strut down the streets of New York someday in this, paired with my new knee-high boots and a confident air of success. Seriously, I think I’m in love.

Sweaters, H&M
Remember that whole statement about the sweaters?? Well, here’s the proof. I went all-in on some H&M pieces because I just couldn’t beat the price. I love them all and cannot wait to be comfy and cozy and warm, from now until the warm weather comes out in May. I’m all about the neutrals for a lasting and timeless collection.
Now we need modeling pics with the new gear!
I’m too camera shy! 🙂 Thanks for reading, Syd!
You can’t have fall without sweaters and cardigan. Awesome list!
So true! Thank you!
