During my recent trip to Florida, I had a single goal in mind: to relax in the sunshine. I desperately needed sun, water, fun. All I wanted out of our three-day getaway was to recover some long-lost Vitamin D—poolside, in a beach chair, or lounging at a resort. Enter: Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort.
Chad and I stayed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and decided to spend an entire day at Hollywood Beach, about 8 miles away. Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort was an obvious choice: the resort has guest passes available (depending on seasonal availability), and we were able to enjoy all of the amenities offered.
I got what I wanted: sun, water, fun.
Here’s how to spend time at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort! Thank you to Margaritaville HB for hosting us.

A perfect day at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort
If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into a Jimmy Buffett song for the day—where the margaritas are cold, the vibes are laid-back, and the ocean is just steps away—Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is the place to be.
Even if you’re not staying overnight, you can still experience this tropical paradise by purchasing a day pass through Resort Pass. Here’s what to expect from a day of fun, relaxation, and signature Margaritaville hospitality.

The Margaritaville legacy
Margaritaville is a lot of things—resort empire, steadfast brand, iconic song—inspired by a philosophical approach to living a carefree life. Inspired by the music and laid-back philosophy of Jimmy Buffett, the Margaritaville brand has become synonymous with escapism, relaxation, and island-inspired fun.
Since the release of his hit song “Margaritaville” in 1977, Buffett built a global empire spanning restaurants, resorts, cruise experiences, and tropical-themed merchandise. His vision of a carefree, beachy lifestyle is at the heart of every Margaritaville destination—of which there are over 30 world-wide.
Whether you’re a lifelong Parrothead or just looking for a break from reality, Margaritaville is a perfect place to unwind and embrace the island state of mind.
It was for us!
Fun fact: Jimmy Buffet has ties to Redstone, Colorado! He married his wife Jane at the Redstone Castle in 1977.
The Resort

Upon arrival, the Margaritaville lobby is welcoming and fun, with swing benches, a coffee and retail shop, and a giant sandal sculpture. Apparently, each Margaritaville resort has a unique flip flop design—we loved the iconic blue.
Outside, the resort has so much to offer. A path connects the resort to the public Broadwalk, Hollywood Beach’s famous beach path. Margaritaville offers beach access to guests, with chair and cabana rentals available. For additional fun, there’s also a FlowRider on the Board Walk—a surfing wave simulator!
There are three pools: the family-friendly LandShark Pool, the Lone Palm Pool, and the adults-only rooftop License to Chill Pool. Each has a unique flavor, from waterslides to poolside drink service.
There are eight resort restaurants and bars on-property to choose from. Some of our favorites were Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, LandShark Bar & Grill, and the 5 o’ Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.
There’s also a spa, which is open to the public with a Spa Pass, and has an indoor jacuzzi, relaxation lounge, steam room, and fitness center.
Our experience

Margaritaville is astoundingly beautiful and is a vibe. Chad and I instantly felt at ease, and loved every moment exploring the grounds.
We got to Margaritaville first thing (well, 11 a.m.), hoping to maximize our time at the resort. We enjoyed iced coffee drinks in the lobby a great tour of the property (thank you, Cara Mia!) before settling into lounge chairs at the Lone Palm pool.
Though we checked out each pool, the beach, the Broadwalk, and a great lunch at the LoneShark Bar & Grill, we spent the bulk of our time at the pool. It fulfilled every goal I had for this visit: sun, water, fun.
During our poolside tenure, a DJ played great music and hosted music trivia, the entire pool passed around a giant beach ball, and we ordered several frozen margaritas and Rum Rider drinks. It was such a blast, and it was incredibly hard to leave.

Yup, girls just wanna have sun!!
Absolutely! Some fun in the sun is always warranted.
I visited Hollywood Florida in FLL. This is probably my favorite stay in FLL. I ate at one of Margaritaville’s restaurants, but didn’t stay there. But I love the beach, the free concerts, the variety of restaurants to choose from. The beach vibes is everything!
