This spring, we threw a Bridgerton party, and it was undoubtedly the talk of the Ton. I am so proud at what we accomplished, as we turned our home into a scene straight from a Regency era tea time, with a garden party to match.
Everyone came dressed in costumes, the food and drink were delicious, and the spirit of the show came to life through fan waving and note reading and tea cup sipping. The mood board came to life.
From start to finish, the party was a resounding success, and a delightful one at that.
Here are the details from our Bridgerton party.

Food
First and foremost, much of the success of this party was due to my co-host, Kelli Calkins of Cooking with Kelli! She graciously supplied her talents in the kitchen, providing us with a range of delicious canapes and desserts. From cucumber sandwiches to trifle, everything was incredible. Our kitchen transformed into such a lovely spread, thanks to Kelli’s direction.
Chad and I contributed cream cheese mints and a fruit tray. Also, shoutout to our friend Leslie, who brought delicious chocolate-covered eclairs. So yummy!

Tea cups
Upon arrival, each guest was directed to choose a vintage tea cup to use for the duration of the party.
There was a name tag for each person, with a personalized poem on the back—guests were provided ribbon to affix their tags to their cup, to keep track throughout the party.
Understandably, this was one of my favorite details, as somehow everything—even booze—tastes more elegant when sipped from a tea cup and saucer.

Drinks
One of my favorite elements of our Bridgerton party was our signature drink: Lavender Lemonade beer, provided to us by Third Space Brewing! This is one of my favorite beers, and it fit our theme so perfectly. It was a huge hit, and I received many compliments from guests trying the beer for the first time.
Additionally, Kelli made fruited simple syrups that paired beautifully with plain lavender, which we realized the Bridgerton characters seem to drink religiously. Lemonade was served from Kelli’s flamingo punch bowl, which added an extra layer of delight.
Chad made a French 75 cocktail for everyone to enjoy, which used gin provided to us from Twisted Path Distillery, plus sparkling wine gifted to us from Thief Wine. It was luxurious and boozy and tasted even better using locally sourced ingredients.
And, as you can imagine, there’s no Bridgerton party without tea! Our friend Laura graciously brought over an orange blossom tea, and I had some bags from an English tea variety set.

Decorations
I worked for several weeks to transform our space into a regal scene. Some decoration details include:
- Faux florals. As many faux flowers as possible! I hung them from wall planters on the ceiling, lined our staircase with garland, filled vases with bouquets, lined our hallway with wisteria, and more. Faux flowers are expensive, but I found some good deals at Michaels and cheaper options at Goodwill.
- Wall accents. I found butterfly wall decals, and these added a dimensional pop of gold to the wall. I loved these! Best of all, they were very affordable for quite a lot in a pack.
- Drapery. I made good use of cheese cloths (lilac, dusty pink, green) to drape from the walls and lay across tables. I had a few materials left over from our Barbie Party, which I put to good use.
- Signage. Confluence Graphics, a local Milwaukee women-owned printing shop, gave me a discount to print a few posters for the party. I designed a welcome sign, along with a photo of Chad and I that I altered to give us Regency Era clothing that was displayed on an easel.

- Photos. Speaking of altered photos, I replaced all of our visible photos with alternate versions. It was such a fun and silly detail to add gowns and jackets and hats and crowns to all of our pictures. I printed most of the photos at home, using glossy photo paper from Amazon.
- Floating flower backdrop. In our basement, I had a cute little floating flower wall backdrop, with a tripod available to use for photos. To make, I popped the heads off of faux flower arrangements (largely from Michaels), and hot glued them onto clear fishing wire. Then, I hung each wire to the ceiling individually using tape. The end result looked like flowers floating!
- Touches of the era. I had random touches throughout that looked vintage (mostly sourced from Goodwill), like a hand-held mirror, bell, canisters, candle holders, magnifying glass, scissors, and more.
- Dreamy tablescape. Between colorful teapots, taper candles, mismatched tea sets, flower petals, a lace tablecloth, gold charger plates, gold tea steepers, embroidered napkins, and crystal bowls, there was a lot to look at and admire at our table, set for high tea.

Welcome book / Regency name game
A last-minute decision turned into one of my favorite details! I found a blank scrapbook at Goodwill, and suddenly felt inspired to turn it into a welcome book.
First, I designed a cover sheet for the front. Next, I created a few pages of a “Pick out your Regency era name” game, which involved mixing and matching details (first letter of your name, middle initial, so on and so forth) for both women and men.
Then, I went and found photos of every guest online (yup, it was a lot of creeping, lol) and used Canva’s AI tool to give everyone Regency era clothes.
Up next, I printed out the photos in black and white, glued them to the scrapbook, and added labels underneath everyone’s photo.
When guests signed in, they were tasked with using the Regency era name generator to write under their photo. This was a great icebreaker to kick off the fun!

Lady Whistledown Society Papers
Ah yes, perhaps my favorite detail of the entire Bridgerton party: the three different Lady Whistledown Society Papers, printed and left for guests to read and enjoy.
It was so much fun to write two of these (one of them was borrowed from Kelli’s Instagram content, for which she won a major contest!), using names and details from our guests lives as the gossip.

Signature scent
Our party even had a signature scent! Milwaukee Candle Co. provided us with their Lilac and Teakwood candle, which transported our senses right into a luscious garden. The scent was lovely.

Build your own bouquet
In lieu of food or drink, we asked all guests to instead bring a small bouquet of flowers (Trader Joe’s has $4 arrangements), for a build your own bouquet table.
This was a hit! Everyone showed up with incredibly beautiful floral arrangements, and our table was overflowing with options.
I supplied ribbon and waterproof bouquet wrappers for the table.

Paper fans
It was a gorgeous day outside, with lots of sun. Thankfully, I bought a set of paper fans on Amazon for guests to use throughout the party. This was a really popular detail for the ladies, who were thankful to ward off the heat.

Games
No party is complete without a game or two!
First, we played a “guess that tune” game with everyone, using the string version of songs that were featured in the show. We kept track of who answered first (and correctly), and the winner was crowned our diamond! Our friend Leena won impressively, and walked away with a cute tiara to mark the occasion.
At one point during the party, we also recorded each guest walk through the floral hallway, giving a curtsey or wave or bow. I compiled the footage into a fun video, which showcases everyone’s amazing Bridgerton-inspired outfits!
Last, we had a vintage croquet set available for use in the yard. Pall mall, as the show calls it, was a fun opportunity for guests to play and mingle.

Our outfits
With a final flourish, here are our outfit details! As the hosts, we had to show up and go all out, of course. Here’s all that my outfit entailed:
- Corset dress
- Gloves
- Hair pins
- Shoes from Goodwill – flats with a bow
And here’s what Chad’s Bridgerton-inspired outfit included (never mind that he wore Teva sandals, omg. Lol.):
- Frilly shirt
- Vest
- Black joggers that he owned, originally from American Eagle
